About Me

Human beings are visual creatures and as an artist I endeavour to share both my intrigue and enjoyment of a vast and diverse world. I remain perplexed by the efforts of humans, through the ages, to create art and word; as an interpretation of, and response to complexity and change. Retirement from a busy professional medical career opened the privilege to pursue a bachelor’s degree in visual art from UNISA and explore my lifelong passion for art. I explore and enjoy multiple topics, techniques, styles and materials.

"Botanical Art remains one of my favourites due to its unwavering demand for truthfulness, enlightenment and timeless elegance."

Captivated by the complexity and sometimes sheer magnificence of plants, I use a combination of watercolour, pencil and coloured pencils and I have participated in collective exhibitions locally and internationally; Creating with sifted sand and charcoal reflects delicate, fragile and fleeting moments;

Fragile rice paper and watercolour batik technique is used for delicate but also earthy textured artworks; Word Art, the use and meaning of language is explored in multimedia, digital media, as well as Oil and charcoal as dictated by the subject matter.

All works and prints are made on high quality paper or canvas with archival inks, watercolour or oils.
